Yesterday my department got audited by Prof Dr Norazlin and Cik Shuhada. We got four NCR and one OFI plus a few pending issues related to our Yemen programme. One of the NCR was for a ridiculous oversight. For the course files to be complete, the eighth requirement is for the student assessment/feedback from SPPK about the course must be included but only a few lecturers included it in their course files. The rest didn’t and some even put TB for “Tidak Berkenaan” in the course file checklist. Most claim ignorance about it, so here I am again, trying to explain how to access it.
- As usual, open your favourite browser and go to http://www.ukm.my/sppk. You will get the page as shown below.
- Type in your staff id (i.e. K007470; starts with K followed by 6 numbers) and your e-Warga password. You will get the following page as shown below. Click on “Profil Pensyarah”, select “Laporan SPPP” and then select “Analisis Set Kursus”.
- Type in the Semester and Academic Session. In this example, I am choosing Semester 1, session 2012/2013. Once done, click on “Capai”.
- You will get a long list of courses that you taught in the semester as shown below. Click on the course code i.e. FFFF2613, to get the student’s feedback. It may take a while, about two minutes, before the result is displayed, so be patient. Feel free to do something else while waiting.
- Once it is displayed, it will look like the page displayed below. Click on the “Cetak” button to print it out.
- If you are in need of a little “pick-me-up”, scroll down and check for your own name and see what marks your students gave you. However whatever marks the students gave you, be it 5/5 or MORE, you wont get “Anugerah Pengajar Cemerlang”. That award is based on a different yardstick. Please talk to Prof Dr Abdullah Sani, this year’s award winner, to find out more about winning it.
- Pat yourself on the back and wipe your tears away. Now we want the students’ comments. Click on “Profil Pensyarah”, select “Laporan SPPP” and then select “Ulasan Pelajar”.

Of course for us to benefit from the feedback, we should go through the comments and use them to improve our teaching in the coming semester. Just don’t let it go into your head though. No one else knew what the students wrote and as stated earlier whatever comments the students gave you, be it “Fantastic” “Remarkable” or whatever, you wont get “Anugerah Pengajar Cemerlang”. Hanya untuk syok sendiri sahaja :p
- Put those 2 sheets of paper into your course file and you’re done. If you want to know what sort of questions were asked to the students, click on “Profil Pensyarah”, select “Laporan SPPP” and then select “Borang Penilaian Pengajaran Kursus”. Below are the questions for assessment of the respective lecturers.
- These are questions for general assessment.
- These are questions for the faculty assessment.
